Meet Max Kendrick

Embrace sponsored professinal jockey

Max is a professional jockey based at Wardington Gate Farm, near Banbury. Max starting racing in point to points when he was just 16years old.

So what does a typical day look like for a professional jockey?

Max rides out 6 mornings a week- usually four lots of horses. After the morning ride he either goes racing (in the winter this is typically 4-5 times), or he does some other form of exercise. Races can be all over the country so long car journeys are unavoidable. In the gym Max does a combination of interval training and strength work.

Max has inevitably suffered the odd injury following falls. The most significant being a fractured fibula and clavicle, both required surgical fixation. Physiotherapy has been an important part of helping Max get back to riding- to help restore movement, strength and confidence to return to racing. He has always been proactive in seeking advice if he suffers a minor knock or niggle.

We have been proud to support Max in his racing career. He has always being very professional and works hard on his supplementary training and rehab. We wish Max all the best for this coming season as he aims to break his record for tally of winners, into double figures.
